Only American Dietetic Association members are eligible to join AODA. There are two ways to join AODA.

The first way is to choose AODA as your ADA affiliate.

Follow these steps to change your affiliate to AODA:

  • Go to the ADA website, www.eatright.org/members/login.aspx.
  • Login and enter your "ID number and password" and click into "Visit the Member Center" to ADA Member Center page. On the bottom left corner, scroll down to MyADA Quicklinks. Click on "MyProfile" - "Edit Membership Profile"
  • Click the "ADA Member Payments" button. Then click the drop box for the affiliate and select AODA. Then scroll down to the very bottom and click "pay by credit card" -- there is no charge.
  • You can also email ADA member services at membership@eatright.org or call them at
    800-877-1600-ext 5000.

The second way is to become a Supporter.

  • If you are an ADA member and belong to another state affiliate, but want to take advantage of AODA membership benefits you can become an AODA Supporter. Supporters receive the following member benefits:

  • Obtain access to the members-only website, including the membership directory
  • Receive information about international continuing education events
  • Receive the AODA member rate at AODA continuing education events
  • Eligibility to participate in affiliate activities, including appointed member of the Leadership Team.
  • Note: Supporters may not vote in AODA elections or serve in elected AODA leadership positions.
